Story of Princess Mỵ Châu
Project type
Fantasy Concept Photoshoot
Date
June 2022
Location
Hanoi
Mỵ Châu - A princess of u Lạc nation (a part of ancient Vietnam) who fell in love with the prince of the enemy country. She trusted him with the country's secret weapon and was betrayed. Till the end, she believed in him, plucking the goose's feathers out of her cloak to leave traces for the prince to find her. Her father - the King, took her to escape to the coast, but was followed by the enemies from the traces she left. The King killed his daughter by the sea.
The prince loved her. But he had to follow the plan of his father. By the ocean, he found her remains. He threw himself down a well in the citadel. The princess' blood turned into pearls, and when washed by the water of the citadel's well, these pearls shine brighter than ever.
To many modern women, this is a warning tale of passiveness and over-emotionality. To me, it is unfortunate that the princess’s good faith has been betrayed. But the strength of her compassion and her pure love is not to be underestimated. Her compassion made the traitor realized his mistake, and it continues to shine in the form of pearls.
