Observations from the Moon: The Age of Beauty

On the Moon lives a creature who watches humans. She can see the Earth through the eyes of anyone. She has observed the human world since its beginning. But never before has she seen so much beauty.

Humans have always been fond of what is beautiful, which differs throughout the ages. But this, this is the age of Beauty. Beauty is defended, worshiped, and followed. Beauty is God.

And, being as persistent as they are, humans pursue Beauty with intensity. They find ways to alter, bedazzle, and glorify their mortal bodies.

Nothing makes them feel more loved than being perceived as beautiful, the creature concluded. "Would I be perceived as beautiful through human eyes?" the creature wondered.

Through their eyes, she scours for means of being closer to their God. Until their eyes can no longer see, and her eyes no longer see the beauty in humans.
