Watercolor Progress
Teaching myself how to paint in watercolor. Over the years, painting has always been in an interest that I never commit to. I've had some experience back in middle school with acrylics and pencil drawing, but I never tried watercolor. My high school was completely ART-LESS which I'm making up for with this project.
I'm going into this knowing that watercolor is a quite counter-intuitive medium, but it's also very fun and forgiving. I hope that it's can re-ignite my love for visual arts. It's a gateway for getting into colors, composition, illustration, design, storyboard and so much more that I think will be helpful in my writing journey. But not to get ahead of myself, I'm keeping this project purely educational and recreational for now. No pressure, just vibes.
My goal with this medium is urbanscape, architect, eventually turning into fantastical landscapes. Nature is also a great inspiration too, specifically fishes, flowers and slowly transition into mythical creatures. The idea of painting humans is still a bit dreadful to me. It's just so difficult. But I might change my mind one day. The day I can just bring a sketchbook and a pocket palette, then just sit down and paint any scenery I find beautiful, is the day I win.
